Nespresso Stormio Characteristics
Coffee Origin
A blend of 100% Arabica beans from Nicaragua and Guatemala, two countries well known for producing high-quality coffee with distinctive flavors. The beans are grown at high altitudes and harvested by hand, which ensures exceptional ripeness and flavor. They are then blended and roasted to create a complex and intense coffee.
Stormio Flavor Characteristics
The Nespresso Stormio has a rich and spicy flavor profile, with wood, cereal, and pepper notes. It also has a hint of sweetness and acidity, which balance out the bitterness of the dark roast. It’s full-bodied with a smooth texture. Stormio’s flavor profile is similar to some Italian espresso blends but with a smoother finish. If you like your coffee strong without any sourness, you might enjoy Stormio.
Intensity
With an intensity level of 8, it is one of the strongest coffees in the VertuoLine range. The intensity is mainly because of its dark roast, which enhances the deep and spicy flavors of the beans.
Nespresso Stormio Caffeine Content
A moderate caffeine content of 150 mg per capsule. Its content is also attributed to the fact that it contains robust beans from Nicaragua and Guatemala, which naturally have more caffeine than other varieties.
Nespresso Stormio Calories
It contains a relatively low calorie count, at only around 2 kcal per pod.
Pour Size
The coffee offers a generous serving of 7.77 oz (230 ml).
Compatibility
Stormio is compatible with Nespresso VertuoLine machines only.
Our Review of the Stormio
I tried the Nespresso Stormio using the VertuoNext machine. Here’s my opinion of it.
Stormio Taste
I found the Stormio to be a very flavorful and satisfying coffee, with a spicy and woody taste that lingered on my palate. It had a full body and a smooth mouthfeel, with no harshness or astringency. Also, it’s very aromatic, with a pleasant smell of roasted nuts and spices. I enjoyed it as a black coffee, but I also tried it with a dash of milk, which added some sweetness and creaminess to the cup.
Acidity
The coffee has a relatively low to medium acidity–not too sour or tangy. It doesn’t take away from the whole drinking experience. Oddly enough, I felt the tang enhanced the robust spicy notes.
Roast and Bitterness
Though extremely bitter and dark, in a pleasant way, the harshness suited the coffee’s strong and spicy profile.
Crema
Stormio’s crema is excellent. It had a beautiful thick and creamy (and stable) layer of foam that lasted all the way to the bottom of the cup.
What We Like About the Stormio

- Rich and smooth body
- Excellent crema
- Generous pour size
What We Don’t Like About the Stormio
