How To Make The Best Nespresso Peppermint Mocha Frappe

To make the perfect Peppermint Mocha Frappe you’ll want at least 2 dark roast Nespresso pods or similar. A little prep is required in making the syrup and the cream for which you’ll need sugar, water and peppermint extract. Then blend with chocolate sauce, coffee and finally garnish with cream and peppermint syrup.

Best Coffee Pods for This Recipe

The best coffee pods for this recipe are darker roast (and higher intensity). I like ones with earthy and nutty flavors as I think this provides a good balance to the peppermint.. but you can find what works best for you.

Some recommendations are:

  • Nespresso VertuoLine Altissio Nespresso Pods
If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor in your frappe, these espresso pods are a great choice. The Altissio blend has a bold and robust flavor that pairs well with the sweetness of the peppermint and chocolate.
  • Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Flavored Nespresso Pods – (For K Cup Lovers)
These coffee pods are perfect for creating a rich and flavorful base for your frappe. The peppermint and chocolate flavors are already infused into the coffee, making it easy to create a delicious Peppermint Mochaccino Frappe.
  • Green Mountain Mocha Nut Fudge Coffee Pod – (For K Cup Lovers)
For a nutty twist on the classic Peppermint Mochaccino Frappe, try using these coffee pods. The rich and creamy mocha flavor is complemented by the nutty notes of this blend, making for a deliciously indulgent treat.

How to Make The Peppermint Mochaccino Frappe

Here’s the step-by-step instructions to make the perfect Peppermint Mocca Frappe

Equipment You’ll Need

  • Blender – This is the most important piece of equipment you’ll need to make a frappe. A high-speed blender will help you achieve a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Coffee maker – You’ll need a coffee maker to brew a strong cup of coffee or espresso to use as the base of your frappe. I’m using my trusty Nespresso machine here but you can use any coffee machine
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glasses – A tall glass will help you achieve that classic frappe look and feel.
  • Ice cube tray – You’ll need to freeze some coffee or espresso in an ice cube tray ahead of time, so you have a frozen base for your frappe.

Ingredients Required

  • ½-1 tsp peppermint extract
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chocolate sauce
  • Coffee concentrate (2 Nespresso Ristretto Intense coffee pods)
  • Ice
  • Peppermint chocolate candy sticks for garnish
  • Peppermint syrup – You’ll need some peppermint syrup to add that refreshing peppermint flavor to your frappe.
  • Chocolate syrup – You’ll also need some chocolate syrup to add a rich and decadent chocolate flavor to your frappe.

Instructions

  1. To prepare peppermint syrup, whisk together water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add peppermint extract and remove the mixture from the heat.
  2. To prepare peppermint sweet mocha cream, add chocolate sauce along with some peppermint extract and heavy cream in a bowl and mix them well in a blender. Mix until foam is created.
  3. Finally, to prepare a drink, take a glass and add coffee concentrate. Dilute coffee concentrate with the desired amount of water.
  4. Add some ice and 1 ounce of peppermint syrup to the bottom of the glass and around the sides. Add ¼ cup of the sweet mocha cream and pour over the coffee.
  5. Garnish the candied glass with peppermint sticks snapped in half and enjoy. You may also add some crushed peppermints on top.

Preparation Notes:

You can use frozen coffee or espresso cubes instead of regular ice cubes. This will prevent your frappe from becoming watered down and will help you achieve a thick and creamy texture.

Also, feel free to adjust the amount of peppermint syrup and chocolate syrup to your liking. Start with a smaller amount and add more as needed until you reach your desired level of sweetness and flavor.

5 Tips To Get The Perfect Balance In Your Peppermint Mocha

  1. Adjust the sweetness: If you find your frappe too sweet, you can reduce the amount of peppermint or chocolate syrup used. On the other hand, if you prefer a sweeter frappe, you can add more syrup to your liking.
  2. Adjust the consistency: If your frappe is too thick, you can add a little more milk to thin it out. If it’s too thin, you can add more frozen coffee or espresso cubes to thicken it up.
  3. Add toppings: For an extra indulgent touch, you can add whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or crushed candy canes on top of your frappe.
  4. Use quality ingredients: Using high-quality coffee capsules, milk, and syrups will make a big difference in the taste of your frappe.
  5. Experiment with different flavors: Don’t be afraid to try different flavor combinations, such as adding caramel syrup or swapping out the peppermint syrup for raspberry syrup.

My Final Thoughts

This Peppermint Mochaccino Frappe is a truly indulgent coffee that is sure to delight your senses. The creamy texture of the blended ice and milk, combined with the rich and robust coffee flavor, is perfectly complemented by the refreshing burst of peppermint and the sweet decadence of chocolate.

To get the right balance and consistency, make sure

Whether you’re curled up on the couch with a good book or catching up with friends at a local coffee shop, a Peppermint Mochaccino Frappe is the perfect drink to savor and enjoy. So go ahead, treat yourself to this deliciously indulgent drink and experience the magic for yourself!
