How to make iced coffee with a Keurig machine

Here are a few things to keep in mind that will help you produce the perfect iced coffee every time.

First of all, it’s best to use a darker roast brew, because any lighter roasts have a tendency to become watered down when they get combined with ice. Also, the cold attenuates our tastebuds so coffee wont taste as strong or bitter when it’s coold down

It’s also better to fill your cup with ice and then brew the coffee over the ice, using a small cup so as to maximize the flavor. When the coffee has been brewed, add milk and any sweeteners afterward so that you can achieve the taste you prefer. Here are the steps necessary to brew iced coffee using your Keurig machine:

Method 1: Brew Over Ice
Use either the 6-fluid oz or the 8-fluid oz brewing option in order to start your Keurig machine. Use a smaller volume when you want your iced coffee to be a little stronger. If your Keurig machine comes equipped with an iced button on it, press this because it lets the machine know you want a more concentrated coffee.

Method 2: Cool off in the fridge [Our Preferred Method]

The problem with brewing over ice, while being quick, is that it dilutes your coffee. Of course you can minimise that by brewing a more concentrated cup, but I personally still find that tastes watered down.

Instead, brew a concentrated cup and put it in the fridge overnight to cool down..

Tip: Brew multiple cups and store it in an airtight container until you’re ready to drink. This can last for 3 or 4 days in the fridge easily.

Method 3: Make coffee ice cubes
The advantage of doing this is that the coffee will chill your drink without detracting from its flavor. You should begin this operation several hours before you plan to make your iced coffee, pouring the cold coffee into an ice-cube tray and sticking it in the freezer for a while.

Pour in cold milk or creamer – use your favorite plant-based milk or dairy milk in order to make nice creamy iced coffee. Most commercial coffee shops will use half-and-half or whole milk, so that their iced coffee has a rich, creamy taste, but you can also use skim milk or low-fat if you prefer. Even a plant-based milk or hemp milk, will end up tasting great with your iced coffee. Some people prefer to use flavored creamers such as cinnamon or white mocha to add a little extra flavor to their iced coffee, but you can add any sweeteners that you enjoy. It’s better that you don’t use granulated sugar because this dissolves only with difficulty in a cold drink. Ordinary syrup mixes in immediately so you can stir in as much syrup as you like. If you don’t have any syrup on hand, you can use powdered sugar, because it dissolves much easier than granulated sugar will.

Experiment with various ingredients – you can customize your coffee to maximize its appeal and taste by experimenting with any number of different ingredients. Flavored syrup, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup, and caramel syrup are all options that iced coffee lovers enjoy adding to their favorite brew.

What To Look For In A Iced Coffee K-Cup?

The K-Cups which work best for brewing iced coffee are those which have a dark roast and a bold flavor. This is primarily because when you add ice to your coffee, it will seriously dilute the flavor and make it weaker. To make sure that you don’t end up with a very weak-tasting coffee, it’s best to avoid light or medium roasts, because they simply won’t hold up after ice is added.

Fortunately, there are literally hundreds of dark roast blends currently on the market that you can choose from to find your favorites. It is also possible for you to use a reusable K-Cup that will present you with even more options.

Of course, the danger of having so many options is that it can make selections very difficult. For that reason, we’ve narrowed down the hundreds of available options into just a few for your consideration. You’ll certainly find at least one, and probably more, from the group below that will please you and make for a very enjoyable afternoon of sipping iced coffee.
