How To Identify The Source Of The Leak

- Use a descaling solution such as Breville’s Descaling powder dissolved in a litre of water. This water is then used to fill the water tank.
- Depending on the machine you are using, press and hold the buttons that will enter you into Descale mode. The machine will indicate it is ready for descaling.
- Press the 1-CUP button to start descaling the machine. Descaling takes about 25 seconds.
- The 1-CUP button should flash continuously until the descaling process has finished.
- To terminate the descaling within 25 seconds, press the 1-CUP button again.
Be sure to thoroughly rinse your machine after descaling, and then dry it off before using it again.
2. The water tank isn’t properly filled
One of the most common causes of a leaking Breville coffee machine is that the water tank isn’t properly filled. If the tank isn’t full, this could cause the machine to leak. Make sure to fill it up to the max line indicated on the tank. Also, check that the water tank is properly attached. If it’s loose, tighten it up.
3. The seals and gaskets are dirty or damaged
